Stations, the following is a news announcement. Suggested lead in 3, 2, 1…

(INTRO)

For more than 100 years the South San Joaquin Irrigation District (SSJID) has provided drinking water to residents and businesses, along with water in Manteca, Escalon, Ripon and parts of unincorporated South San Joaquin County.  On December 10, the San Joaquin LAFCo (Local Agency Formation Commission) will vote to determine who has the authority to provide retail electricity service to its customers.

Troylene Saylor, Communications Coordinator of the South San Joaquin Irrigation District, says if they vote to move forward, electricity customers will see a 15 percent savings on their current bill.

PG&E JUST INCREASED THEIR RATES AGAIN THIS YEAR AND PLANS TO DO SO AGAIN NEXT YEAR. ALL WE NEED NOW IS THE COMMISSION’S APPROVAL TO MOVE FORWARD. WE ARE TRYING TO ELIMINATE THE MIDDLE MAN, AND SAVE OUR RATEPAYERS FIFTEEN PERCENT ON THEIR RETAIL ELECTRIC BILLS. IF RESIDENTS WANT TO BE HEARD, I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE THEM TO ATTEND THE DECEMBER 10 HEARING.  IT’S AT NINE A.M. IN STOCKTON AT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS CHAMBERS.
