(Chapel Hill, NC, Wednesday, April 11, 2018) – More than 300 kids will come together to swim, bike and run at JUST TRYAN IT’s kids’ triathlon at the Chapel Hill Country Club at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018. JUST TRYAN IT, a 501(c)3 foundation, raises money for families fighting childhood cancer. Proceeds from will support families in treatment for pediatric cancer in the Triangle area.

JUST TRYAN IT strives to inspire children to make a difference in their communities and empowers them to seek out pledges and raise awareness of the many struggles facing families with sick children.  Since its inception in 2010, JUST TRYAN IT has granted more than $1,500,000, and this year’s goal is to raise an additional $250,000.

JUST TRYAN IT was founded in 2010 to help other families fighting childhood cancer when JUST TRYAN IT co-founder Mollie Darby’s then six-year-old son Ryan was diagnosed with leukemia. Moved by the number of families who were dealing not only with the stress of their child’s cancer diagnosis, but also struggling with the financial strains of treatment, Mollie’s friends sprang into action and founded JUST TRYAN IT to provide financial assistance for everyday bills. The funds raised over the years are making a profound and direct impact on the lives of families dealing with childhood cancer.

The JUST TRYAN IT’s kids’ triathlon is in its eighth year in its home base of Bethesda, MD. The expansion is a natural extension of this inspiring movement to get kids ages 6 to 14 physically active and to initiate a life of philanthropy. JUST TRYAN IT is another current example of kids helping kids and children making a difference in our world. To register, visit: http://justtryanit.com/our-races/chapel-hill-nc/
