(Washington, D.C., Thursday, April 21, 2022)- One day after the State of the Union address, the Biden administration released an updated National COVID-19 Preparedness Plan. It stated that “COVID-19 no longer needs to dictate how we work” and that federal workers would set the example for a new stage of the COVID-19 pandemic − returning to the workplace. As of this month, local Social Security offices may already have more in-person appointments available for those that need them.

The administration hasn’t yet made a specific return-to-workplace order, and individual agencies seem to be making their own return-to-office plans. However, in the private sector, companies like Apple, Bank of America and many others are on a collision course with employees over return-to-office plans, as workers demand more flexibility and remote-work options.

Top-rated DC Metro lawyer in Labor & Employment Law John P. Mahoney, Esq. will be available to discuss the legalities of return-to-office mandates, what rights federal workers have in negotiating for remote work or hybrid options, and what he believes the future of in-office work may look like from a legal standpoint.
