September 3, 2018

Stations, the following is a news announcement. Suggested lead in 3…2…1

(INTRO):

Marylanders without health coverage can shop, compare and enroll in a plan on Maryland Health Connection through February 15 – and many will be eligible for financial assistance that can reduce their premiums and out-of-pocket expenses. But they must enroll by February 15, because most Marylanders who are not insured in 2015 will face a tax penalty of 325 dollars or two percent of income, whichever is greater, for not having coverage.

Carolyn Quattrocki, Executive Director of the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange, explains how enrollment works.

(QUATTROCKI):

INDIVIDUALS CAN GO TO OUR WEBSITE TO REVIEW PLANS AND ENROLL ONLINE, OR COME TO ONE OF OUR FREE EVENTS AROUND THE STATE TO CHOOSE A PLAN IN PERSON.  WHILE THE DEADLINE FOR ENROLLMENT IN HEALTH PLANS IS FEBRUARY FIFTEENTH, THOSE WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR MEDICAID CAN ENROLL YEAR-ROUND.

(CLOSE):
