With only 80 calories per cup, blueberries are great because there’s no chopping, de-seeding or de-stemming needed

(Folsom, CA, Thursday, November 16, 2017) – As we enter into the holiday season, it’s easy to be tempted by the unhealthy foods readily available around this time of the year.

But with a little preparation and knowledge about delicious – and healthy – choices, we can still enjoy all the holiday-goodness, but in a way that keeps us and our families healthy throughout the season. With proper planning, eating a healthy diet doesn’t have to feel like one more “thing” on the to-do list designed to run you into the ground.

There are some easy tips and tricks, for example:

  • Easy and quick recipe ideas – for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For example, did you know blueberries can be a great addition to dinner? People often think of them in sweets, but they add depth to savory dishes, too: green or grain salads, salsas, sauces and dressings, burgers and sandwiches
  • Be the hero of your neighborhood – host a family-friendly baking swap, where everyone brings a healthy holiday treat to share. Include the kids in baking, and they’ll be excited to try all of the other “treats.
  • Keep it hassle-free – when you’re busy around the holidays, keep your and the kids’ snacks simple. With only 80 calories per cup, blueberries are great because there’s no chopping, de-seeding or de-stemming needed. They’re also available fresh year-round.

The simplest way to describe Wendy and Jess:  BFFs who love to eat, cook and nerd out about anything nutrition related (and in that order). In short, Food Heaven Made Easy started in 2011 as a creative outlet for two friends to spread the word about nutrition and healthy eating. In winter of 2010, they decided that filming videos and putting them out into internet-land would be the best way to do it. Flash forward six months and they were filming their very first episode.

What started out with just a couple of viewers has morphed an amazing YouTube community following of over 30,000 subscribers. Throughout the years, their site has evolved, but their basic philosophy has remained the same: healthy eating should be delicious, cost effective and relatively painless. They want to help people live their best lives possible, and they know that a healthy body and mind starts with a nutritious diet.
